This looks like an extraordinary decision, which is certain provoke some shockwaves in politics and the construction industry.
As you can read HERE, multi-million school and college building projects across Nottinghamshire look like being delayed for months.
The decision has been taken by the Learning and Skills Council, which has deferred decisions on all school and college capital projects for three months.
As yet, we don't know why, though the ongoing debate about the future of the LSC may have played a part.
Why extraordinary? Because it comes in the wake of Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling saying they wanted to help the economy by bringing forward big public spending projects.
Someone is likely to make political hay out of this.
And construction firms will be worried about another potential blow to their hard-pressed cash flows.
So long....
